Two
of these, the Merlot and the Cabernet Sauvignon, were specially made for The
Joy of Wine, to help illustrate the building blocks of
Bordeaux
wines. These
wines are available separately so you can repeat this entertaining experience.
The DVD included:
The film, which took over 18 months to produce, includes footage of every aspect of wine production and of wine tasting. It includes optional ‘in depth’ chapters on:
The history of wine making in Bordeaux, wine production, aging and barrel, manufacture.
Bonus chapters include: how to buy Bordeaux wine and interviews with some of the region’s leading wine-makers.
The box set:
The box contains nine essential aroma crystals mirroring notes that can be found in many wines:
- Eight “positive” aromas; peach, grapefruit, honey, vanilla, strawberry, blackcurrant, rose and tar.
- One “negative” aroma; mould, a sure sign the wine is of a bad quality.
- Use them to develop your sense of smell. They are reusable and guaranteed for five years, so you can continue to hone your skills with every bottle of wine you buy.
